back from the SA

this is total picture overload, i'll warn you now.
we got in thursday afternoon and kind of explored the area.
thursday night we decided to go downtown and check out the riverwalk.
we must be pretty lame...we didn't know the alamo was right down town.
alamo at night

the entrance to the alamo
it looked cooler than the picture
the riverwalk at the rivercenter mall

more of the mall and the riverboats

riverwalk at night
friday was the interview and jd's birthday.
we were going to get up at 7, eat some breakfast and have plenty of time to get to the school by 9, but...we heard knocking and realized it was 8:15. yikes! jd barely made it in time, but i stayed behind. let's face it, i can't make myself presentable in 10 minutes...especially with the humidity.
he said the interview went well and we'll hear in the next few weeks.
we both completely forgot it was his birthday in the haste of getting him ready for the interview.
jd had a little accident in the car...

the grounds inside the alamo
i certainly didn't expect it to be this green

amphitheater

there were way too many people during the day

jd's birthday dinner at paesano's (thanks andrea!)
we tried to get a good picture, but this is the best we could come up with
jd's reason for being excited to be 25?
no longer will he have to pay the extra $25 a day to rent a car. for real.

birthday dessert

we walked past ripley's where they had a cool mirror maze, but it was $10 a person so we just checked out the ones outside.
we were laughing so hard....maybe you just had to be there?

litte people, big world?
saturday before we left we went on a boat ride on the riverwalk
it was so pretty and green there

this amphitheater was on miss congeniality

riverwalk

i loved this fountain
it goes right through the sidewalk

this building looked so cool from this angle

more riverwalk

tower of the americas

st. anthony
we had an awesome time in san antonio and we loved the green and the riverwalk.
however, i still think our first choice is phoenix.
we weren't very impressed with the housing there...never in my life have i seen so many houses with only one car garages. what's with that?
jd thinks he has a pretty good chance here so, we'll take what we can get!
