memorial day

we went to rock springs to hang out with the hammond fam over memorial weekend. we ate so much delicious food, watched "the fight" (my first...and probably last), went shopping at herbergers, hiked the butte, the boys rode dirt bikes, walked to a little waterfall, and played with emi.
it was nice to get away and relax a little bit. thanks hammonds!
(ps...anyone know why blogger is all messed?)

you might have to click on this to make it bigger, but there really are wild horses out there

3 years

it's been 3 wonderful years since i married my very best friend on may 18, 2006.
the best day of my life. everything turned out perfectly. (or maybe the years have clouded my memory?)

i love jd because he will get up in the middle of the night with me to get milkshakes and french fries, he will talk to me util i'm sleepy even if he's not anymore, he will always watch what i want to, he ALWAYS lets me have the "good" seat when we're watching something on the computer, he always wants a hug, he loves to snuggle just at much as i do, he will run or walk with me whenever i ask him to, he will do ANYTHING i ask him to, he lets me buy incredible amounts of furniture that i don't even need or have room for(and he doesn't even get mad!), he is always in a good mood, we can be happy doing nothing together, we are happy just sitting in silence sometimes, and most of all he can comfort me like no one else can.

we have done a lot of things in the past 3 years. we have had some hard time and some great times. i never dreamed this is where we would be in our lives, but i love it and wouldn't change it for the world!

5.1.09

jd graduated today with his bs in english. why english when he's going into optometry? because its an "easy" major...or so he thought.

this was a graduation unlike any other. and i only fell asleep for a few minutes.
we only went to the smaller one in the afternoon with the college of arts and humanities. need i say more? i will though, don't worry!
it started off with an alligator (in costume of course) crawling across the stage, followed by a band of pirates (luckily not somalians) singing and dancing. this was the processional! nope, no pomp and circumstance here. captain hook and his pirate partners. what the? maybe i like things a little traditional...is that too much to ask?

there was an assortment of random performances throughout the rest of the convocation. interesting.

the BEST part was a girl in performing arts. all of the performing arts grads had to do some cheesy something as they crossed the stage and this girl was no different...until she fell. she was lifting up her leg for some sort of thing and fell. in a skirt. my mom and i could barely keep it together. isn't that your worst nightmare at graduation? why would you do that?

second to that girl was jd as the graduates came across the stage in the processional. he was behind a guy in a wheelchair, so they guy had to circle back around and go down the ramp. jd just kept on following him. he didn't realize for a bit and then had to run back and get in line. he is a nut!

obviously we were entertained, even if it was a little weird.

walking across the stage.
if you look really closely, you can see that he lined his feet up EXACTLY with the little template on the floor. that is what the dean of the department is looking at. she looked down at him wondering what in the world he was doing. i knew he would have to do something silly up there.

he were are

yes, i realize i look like a dork.

now we can play for the summer.
starting with hawaii tomorrow!
