bear lake

we made a quick trip to bear lake over the 24th.

we slept at the cabin, had yummy berry pancakes, road grandpas lawn mower, and went boating.

fourth

we enjoyed our usual fourth in kaysville.

slip n slide. fire. smores. camp out. breakfast. parade. bouncy slide. fireworks.

 emi was a champ and loved the slip n slide.

sophie not so much. but at least she tried it. 

i forced her down one more time with me for a picture.

soph loved doing pops with ro. she kept saying "more pops, more pops". 

 ro is the cool aunt that buys your kid the fun stuff. she bought a whole case of pops for the kids, sparklers, and fireworks.

i tried desperately to get a picture of sophie in her outfit and cute 4th of july headband. this is all i got. the headband lasted about 2 seconds and it was off. maybe next year?

we left sophie at my mom's while we went to watch the fireworks. she was completely worn out. even after a 4 hour nap. she fell asleep on my mom, slept through all the fireworks, and slept on me while we waited for traffic to clear out.

we've had a busy june...take a look

lots of backyard swimming.

and lots of cherry hill. except we have no pictures of cherry hill.

strawberries. sophie loves the "baby" strawberries from our garden. she eats them faster than i can pick...stem and all.

 patient reunion party with our reproductive endocrinologist doctor. this is the place heritage park.

a little awkward with hundreds of people we didn't know, but sophie loved the animals. she even got to go on a pony ride...and didn't want to get off.

the aquarium. sophie got a new friend to tag along with her. i swore i would never put a harness on my kid, but i absolutely love it. and so does sophie. it's a puppy and its a backpack...how could she not love it? she can walk around, but not run away and not get lost in crowds. i love it.

practicing keeping our pigtails in. it's a daily battle.

sophie's first high heels. i scored a big box of dress ups at a garage sale a few weeks ago for $7. she isn't real interested yet, but she sure tried on these heels.
