happy birthday grandma dot!

today is my grandma dot's 92nd birthday! wow! we celebrated her birthday on sunday and then went to visit her tonight as well. she tends to get a little lonely and confused where she lives so we thought we'd cheer her up with some company, brownies, and ice cream! she was so excited! she pretty much broke my heart when she said just before we came over she was thinking about how lonely her life is and then we showed up! i wanted to cry! i love her so much and she is so caring and loving to everyone. how could you not love grandma dot? used to love listening to her stories when i was younger. she always had fabulous stories about how much things cost in the 1920's, my grandpa in the war, how she was engaged twice, going to lagoon, etc. she never fails to disappoint you with a good story! she has been such an example to me and such big part of my life. she has done countless things for my mom, my sisters, and i. she is so generous and loving. she is still quite healthy for her age, but her mind is slipping a bit. it breaks my heart every time she gets confused and upset, i just want to cry with her. i can only imagine how much she misses my grandpa after 14 long years! i hope she is around a little longer so my children can meet their great-grandma dot! (this is not any sort of announcement)

i love you grandma dot!

my nephew, lincoln, was so excited for grandma dot to open her presents. he handed her each one and then helped her open it. the first gift was some stylin knee-highs...linc was so excited he was squealing! he proceeded to squeal with every gift she opened no matter what it was. he is such a crack up! i love him!

ps....anyone notice the new do?

a light at the end of the long, long tunnel

yes, there is a light at the end of this tunnel. it may be small, microscopic even, but it's there. the end is near....sort of. as i take my last 2 tests today i feel that there is some hope i may see life outside of weber state. i'm not sure i know what that is like anymore. i feel like i've been going to school FOREVER! ok, so it really hasn't been as long as it seems since i am technically a year behind everyone my age because i spent a year in new york. as this semester wraps up, i will enjoy my glorious 2 weeks of vacation until it's back to the daily grind. i only have 7 classes left (4 summer, 3 fall) and my huge capstone project to complete during the summer. if i make it through the summer, perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel might get a little bigger....wish me luck! december is only 8 more months away! does anyone else find it sad that i am already counting down?

random

first of all, let me say that if this post offends anyone i'm sorry! get over it! during the priesthod session i went to dinner with some friends, got some ice cream, drove all over town only to come home and find this! how disgusting! how long had i been driving around with that on my car? and how did it get there? i start the process of elimination. i immeditately accuse my friends that i am with and they both deny it. my brother in law? definitely something he would do and i had just been talking to my sister about these because she has never seen truck nuts...possibly? nope, they were in wyoming. did someone confuse my car for someone else's? couldn't be. i decided to call my sister just to make sure and send her a picture so she can have her first look at truck nuts! we pretty much died laughing. i almost couldn't even tell her what happened because i was laughing so hard. i was so embarrassed wondering how many neighbors saw me driving and think i'm a sicko.

after much begging, pleading, and accusations i dragged it out of my friends that they did it right before we went to dinner. what sort of friends do i have? just kidding...but that was a sick joke!

weber state! weber state! great, great, great!

now, normally these are not words you would hear out of my mouth....however, today i will make an exception! when i logged on to find out how much my dreaded tuition bill would be, i had quite a pleasant surprise. i was trying to figure out how my summer tuition could only be $400 when i noticed there was $750 already paid for. how did that happen you ask? I got a $750 honors scholarship for the summer! yay! as i investigated this further, i found out i also got $400 for fall semester from the bis program! yay again! i had applied for a bis (bachelors of integrated studies) student scholarship in february, but never heard anything back and figured i didn't get it. they decided to give me both and i didn't even know! free money? i'll take it!

thanks weber state! you certainly are great!

welcome baby conner!

conner trevor jensen made his entrance into the world a few weeks early on friday, april 11 at about 2pm. he weighed 7lbs and 4oz (i think). he is so darling and already has so much hair! he looks just like his dad! congrats to our good friends jenny and trevor! we love him! we could hardly wait to see him!

heather and conner

we went to the cheesecake factory on monday because we had been planning to before conner was born...we made it just in time!this is pre-conner, as you can see, jenny is still pregnant

who knew this was in farmington pond?

jd and i went fishing saturday morning with my dad at farmington pond. i had never been fishing there before and never thought i would catch this much! i caught 4 fish and so did my dad! poor jd had a very unlucky fishing day and didn't catch anything!
yes, i did just roll out of bed. notice how i am holding them as far away from me as possible? i didn't want any chance of fishy water splashing on me! yuck! i don't eat them and i don't touch them!

catching up...

it's been a little while, but i need to catch up my blogging! last friday we had a bbq with the girls from the old kaysville 2nd ward. we don't see each other too often anymore because we all are so busy with our own lives and families. it just seems like we pick up right where we left off whenever we get together. it was so great to see them and feel like we were 12 again....sort of. i grew up with these girls since i was 6 and just love them! of course we had to take a girls picture! needless to say i decided to lose the bangs after looking at this picture...i didn't mind feeling like 12 again for a few hours, but i ceratinly don't want to look like it!

so glad you're back

i think this picture pretty much sums up last night's episode of the office. i think this was my favorite part! i'm so glad it's back! i haven't really known what to do with my thursday nights since december. this wasn't my favorite episode, but a good way to come back from a long break. i especially love how michael brags about his plasma tv, only to be shown as a 19" screen. i love how he is so proud of it! of course there is the good old awkward feeling ever present on the office, made even more so by the awkwardness of michael and jan's relationship. i find it quite odd how she hated him so much and now they are together? weird. this feeling is made even more awkward when michael and jan start to argue during their "dinner" party where they have to wait for the meat to braise for 3 hours. it makes you feel awkward even watching, let alone being in that situation. pam and michael dating? i can't believe jan fell for that! and when the dundie hits the tv...classic! what was with dwight and his babysitter? that was kind of gross! oh, how i love the office! i can't wait to see you every thursday night! welcome back!
