end of summer recap

we have A LOT to catch up on, but here we go...

at the end of august we went camping with some friends in huntsville. they had the greatest park in the middle of town. sophie loved it and we had fun too. we had some delicious bbq at the huntsville bbq company, ate outside and listened to live music. then we headed to our campsite, sat by the fire, talked, made smores and had lots of fun with friends.

the girls

 our fam by the campfire.

soph in the morning. with a kit kat. she woke up at 5:30. we managed to keep her quiet til about 6:15, but then she woke everyone up.

 loving her swing.

she's been letting me do her hair a little more and it's getting a lot longer.

picking out her own clothes. awesome.

 visiting my newest nephew, miles.

we also spent a few hours in the er getting these lovely stitches. soph was up way past her bedtime, being silly and dancing around, when she tripped and had a run in with the coffee table. the corner of the table hit right above her eye. the side of the table left the awesome bruise on her cheek. the cut was kind of in a "y" shape so we decided to take her to the er (because, of course, the instacare was closed). she was a pretty good sport through the whole thing. she cried the most when they put the pulse ox on her finger and when she had her hospital bracelet put on. she's so funny. she had to have numbing cream on her eye before they could wash out the cut and look at it. they had to wrap her up like a burrito and hold her down while they washed it out and decided she needed 2 stitches. it closed right up and as soon as she was unwrapped she was fine. luckily we had an awesome nurse and doctor. she still has a little scar that will hopefully fade in the next few years.

allison, rochele and i ran the foam fest in ogden. it wasn't the best planned race, but it turned out to be pretty fun. i think soph and emi had the most fun playing in the bubbles and water.

(don't worry, we're just crawling under barbed wire here. for real.)

playing dress up. one of soph's favorite things to do.

 thomas the train

mommy's shoes.

welcoming aunt sara home from her mission to jacksonville, florida. sophie was only 2 months old when sara left on her mission so she had definitely changed a bit. soph was excited to see sara and we had been practicing her name before she came home so she's know it.

LOTS more updated and catch-up to come.

love her little pigtails. It gives me hope that someday megan's hair will get longer :) I also got stitches in the same spot as a little kid.
