Beee-ar Lake

we went to bear lake over the 24th with jd's family. it was surprisingly not crowded at all. it seemed as if we had the entire lake to ourselves. the water was 75* and perfectly smooth.

i am quite proud of myself. after 2 long years, i finally got up the courage to wakeboard...or at least try. the closest i ever came was getting in the water and putting the wakeboard on 2 years ago. then i got really nervous when the boat started to leave me there. for some reason i have this unexplained and totally irrational fear of water. i can't quite explain what it is. BUT...i finally tried it! it didn't exactly work, but at least i can say i gave it a good try...or 4. i didn't get up because the rope kept getting ripped out of my hands. after my hands were sufficiently ripped apart, i decided i better get back in the boat. this is quite an accomplishment for me! ask anyone in the fam!
maybe next time!

here i am putting the board on
i look like i'm concentrating really hard

just after the boat pulled away.

since i didn't actually get up i don't have any cool pictures, only splashes.

i'm pretty sure heidi won for the most air when she jumped the wake. she got about 4 feet and them came crashing down. she was a great sport though and even tried it again!

sara jumping the wake

i have some video of jd jumping the wake, but i can't ever seem to get videos to load on here

help, anyone?

we also started putting siding on the cabin while we were up there.

AFTER:

doesn't it look great? siding is a lot more complicated to put on than i thought. i also thought it would go a lot faster. who knew?

the crew at work

we also wen to the montpelier carnival that consisted of about 10 people + carnies! yay! they had my favorite...the superslide! i wish they still did the kaysville carnival so we could sneak over there after hours and ride down. come on, are they really going to call the cops? of course not, they'd probably be arrested themselves for the various illegal activities that are sure to be taking place in their lovely little trailers they have parked right outside.

jd, kelsie, and i raced and jd totally won

then kelsie and i headed over to the hustla!

this was the best ride! it reminded me of the sandlot. it spins while it turns you in circles...not for anyone with a weak stomach. it went forward and then backward and just when we were about to stop, they carnie asked if we wanted to go again.....of course we do! we got a deal for our $4 ride! i was so dizzy when i got off, but definitely worth it.

i think i could have enjoyed it a little more had i not been thinking about how it had just been put together a few hours ago by delinquent, ex-con carnies and could fall apart at any moment hurling me into the darkness.

Looks like so much fun! I love bear lake! It took me a good couple tries to get up on the wakeboard. I got up but I didnt move around. I stayed dead center behind the boat...maybe next time I'll try to jump the wake or something!

Looks like such a fun trip! Good job for trying to wake board. And guess what's so wierd?? There is a Bryan and Alicia Murdock in my ward, well, they just moved, but crazy huh?
